Ecologic Energy - Doing good

Using our energy to bring energy to others.

We’re a utility company, but we can do more. Supplying energy lets us do the things we care about and making the world a better place. Here’s some of the good stuff we do.

Football is more than a game, it’s a way to unite the world.

Sunderland AFC Naivasha is a football team and academy in the village of Karai on the outskirts of Naivasha Town, Kenya, that’s funded entirely by donations. Named after their manager’s favourite football team (Sunderland), Eco Logic Partners got involved after hearing their amazing story – the team started out as football-loving men who had no kit, no boots and not even a football pitch but they did have a massive love for the game. One day their manager asked a Sunderland fan in England about the possibility of donating old Sunderland shirts or boots etc.

When a request was shared by the Bradley Lowery Foundation, we wanted to put our energy behind helping out. The response to the appeal was overwhelming with not only items for the football team, but items such as clothing, bedding, mattresses, children’s toys, bikes, schoolbooks, pens, pencils, toothbrushes and toothpaste were donated to help the local school and village. We believe football is a great leveller, some say it’s universal language that can unite the world, and we’re so proud to have our name attached to this amazing project.

Grace House

Grace House is a Sunderland based charity working across the North East, providing support to disabled children, young people and their families. We offer support to the whole family, as well as the young people who come to us for a short break.

Grace House was established in 2003 through the vision of Kathy Secker, a local newsreader and celebrity who thought “Children deserve to have an amazing place where they can come to laugh, learn and live life to the full”. Kathy launched a huge community fundraising drive throughout the North East and her vision became a reality with the creation of Grace House.

Grace House have a number of values which we distil into everything they do. Namely that there is:

  • A positive culture within the charity.

  • That every contact is a positive experience.

  • Continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of the services that we provide to our disabled children and their families.

  • A range of specifically designed services offered, in a fully adapted building.

One Tree Planted
Trees can save the world. That’s why we’re behind them.

We really believe in putting our money where our beliefs are at Eco Logic Partners, so we plant one tree for every year of contract we manage for our clients, and so far, we’ve planted thousands all over the world. We work with the amazing One Tree Planted – a non-profit organisation that’s made it easier for people to plant more trees to help save our planet since 2014. They work with awesome reforestations partners in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa to get trees in the ground to restore forests after fires and floods, create jobs, build communities, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere and protect biodiversity.

In 2020 they planted a whopping 15 million trees. Only by working together and having a common ideal will we be able to combat climate change. It’s no longer a battle. Now it’s a war and we’re lacing our boots up tight to fight it.

Surfers Against Sewerage
We’ve joined Surfers Against Sewerage in the fight for cleaner seas.

We understand just how important the ocean is to our way of life in the North East. But the reality is that our beaches and seas are in danger. Micro plastic is getting into the ocean food chain, the ocean is warming, and our coastal waters aren’t as diverse as they once were. So, we’ve pledged to support Surfers Against Sewage and their excellent work by participating in beach cleaning days and beachwear fundraising days. We strongly support Surfers Against Sewage and their message is simple and one we believe in:

  1. Net Zero Carbon emissions

  2. Rewilding of the oceans to increase the removal of carbon from the atmosphere

  3. Increase in water quality testing and harsher penalties for those who still pollute

  4. Reduction of single use plastics

  5. Legislation for effective resource use and waste management

  6. Legislation to ensure marine habitats are able to recover to their natural state

Bumblebee Conservation Trust
We love our bee buzzing around Eco and it got us thinking about how important it is to honour the honey bee and all beekeepers.

Over the past century, our bumblebee populations have crashed. Two species have become nationally extinct and several others have declined dramatically.

Bumblebees are familiar and much-loved insects that pollinate our crops and wildflowers, so we are rightly worried.

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust was established because of serious concerns about the ‘plight of the bumblebee’. They have a vision to create a world where bumblebees are thriving and valued. Their mission is to increase the number and distribution of bumblebees. Eco Logic are committed to helping the Bumblebee Conservation Trust to make a big difference.

The Trust has a new five-year strategy, to work towards; enhancing the understanding of bumblebee ecology and conservation, increase the quality and quantity of bumblebee habitat, inspire and enable a diverse range of people to take action for bumblebees and be an effective and sustainable organisation.
